Phoniatrics in Germany

In Germany, Phoniatrics is combined with pedaudiology and in this combination an independent medical specialty. To become a specialist for phoniatrics and pedaudiology, an advanced training in otorhinolaryngology for 2 years and in phoniatrics and pedaudiology for 3 years is regulated. Other colleagues have a full specialisation in otorhinolaryngology. In these cases, the advanced training in phoniatrics and pedaudiology is reduced to 2 ½ years.
The German Society of Phoniatrics and Pedaudiology (DGPP) has 307 members.
