Phoniatrics was presented by Prof. Drsata and delegated by Prof. Neuschaefer-Rube. The new UEP board and the UEP scientific activity was presented (8 congresses with UEP organization / participation), education (logbook finished and published on UEP websites, European Manual of Medicine, public education), the founding of EAP was announced and the UEP promotion activities. The phoniatrics logbook on the UEP websites was valued as a good suggestion.

Further, the secretary represented the UEP at the IAPA Congress 2014 and monitored the program of the organizations dealing with similar fields of interest as that of the UEP (hearing loss, vertigo, tinnitus).

Tasks: the update of the UEP homepage was provided by the UEP webmaster, Peter Matulat. We are looking for new ways to bring information about congresses and important scientific events to the UEP members. Contributions to the digital library have been accepted.

Further contacts with the Editor of Audiological Medicine (Prof. A. Martini), official Journal of the IAPA, have been established. As the issue dedicated to Phoniatrics, published in 2011, was appreciated, the possibility to further involved UEP members in the Board of the Journal and possible changes in the title of the Journal, including the term “Communication” or “Speech”, have been explored.

Contacts with the Japanese Society of Logopedics and Phoniatrics took place in Osaka, during the local national congress. Possible collaborations between the two societies have been explored.

A larger involvement of the UEP in the IALP activities and in particular in the committee of Education in Phoniatrics have been discussed during several meetings with the IALP board.

The aim for the next two years is to develop Rules and Regulations of the UEP, supporting the existing By-Laws.
